LA Dunes Thanksgiving 2004

Some friends and I drove out to the LA Dunes in Forest Hills, Louisiana on Friday. We hit the casino in Kinder, La for some drinks and gambling. The rain started laste that night and came down very hard. The next morning, the creek at the dunes was thigh deep. The creek had to be crossed to get on the dunes so we waited it out.

Finally, the water was low enough that we towed the Pilot across with the motor off. Once we were on the sand, things got fun. I had not been back to this riding area in a few years and the Pilot handled much better than I expected. The place is only about 300 acres and we ran out of room very quickly. The Pilot was very fun because you never had to let off for anything but turns. The biggest hill and deepest whoops could be hit full speed. Awesome!

Dave airing it out on a 50 mph floater jump.

Dave hitting the same jump even faster.

My new toy. 2004 Kawasaki V-Force 700 twin. Very powerful quad!

Happy people at the dunes.
